Visit Craven Hall
Tours of historic Craven Hall and the John Fitch Steamboat Museum are held every 2nd Sunday from 12:00 noon to 3:00 PM. Come see how the early Dutch families, the Cravens, Vansants & Bennetts lived and learn about the beginnings of modern transportation with the invention of the steamboat. Admission is free but donations are appreciated.
Tours can also be arranged on Thursday mornings between 10:00 A.M. and 12:00 noon and at other times by appointment. To make a tour appointment, please call 215-675-4698 at least one week prior to your requested appointment.
Experience Open Hearth Cooking at Historic Craven Hall
Would you like to experience what it was like to make a meal before the advent of electricity? Craven Hall will present that opportunity for you on Sunday, March 12th,2017 beginning at 3:30PM with dinner served at 5:00PM.
You will prepare a 3 course meal taken from early colonial receipts and cooked on our 200 year old open hearth. You will be guided by our food historian and chef, Laura Garrison using 18th and 19th C. tools and methods. After the meal is prepared, you and your invited guest will dine in the ambiance of our elegant parlor.
Space is limited for this event and reservations are required with a $25 payment per participant needed 1 week prior to the event. Checks should be made out to the Craven Hall Historical Society and mailed to P.O. Box 2042, Warminster, PA 18974.
